Practical Information

How to get there. Vevey and Montreux both have a main train station: from/to Lausanne (15 min.), from/to Geneva (60 min.), from/to Interlaken (change in Zweisimmen) with the famous mountain train “MOB Golden Pass” - free for Eurail/Interrail-holders: a great journey which will take you across a beautiful landscape.

You can easily move between Vevey and Montreux either by bus (15 min.) or by train (5 min.). Both train stations have lockers, rest rooms, bike rentals, a bank and small shops.
The post offices are both near the train stations.
The Tourist Information offices have all the major information you’ll need: in Vevey, Grande-Place 29 (0848 86 84 84), and in Montreux, Place du Débarcadère (0848 86 84 84).

Montreux is usually rather expensive and more for the solvent tourist, but has a
Youth hostel in Territet-Veytaux, pass. de l’Auberge 8 (021 963 49 34), 8 min. by bus from the train station.
